1st day

  • Arrival in St. Petersburg. Welcome reception at the airport/railway/bus station.
  • Transfer to the hotel accompanied by a qualified English-speaking guide.
  • Hotel check-in.
  • Spare time in the city.

2nd day “A newborn city”

  • Breakfast in the hotel.

  • City tour. Drive along the Neva Embankment and Nevsky Avenue, passing the Bronze Horseman, the Academy of Arts and St. Petersburg State University; around the Theatre Square (Mariinsky “Kirov” Opera and Ballet House), Ostrovsky Square (Alexander Theatre) and the Square of Arts (Michael Theatre and Russian Museum). Photo-stops on the Spit of Basil Island, in St. Isaac’s Square, by the battle-ship “Aurora”, near the Smolny Institute and St Nickolas Naval Cathedral.

  • St. Peter and Paul Fortress – the birthplace of St, Petersburg. A walk around the grounds, a visit to St. Peter and Paul Cathedral – the burial place of Russian Tsars and Tsarinas. A visit to a former imperial political prison is also available, if desired.

  • Lunch.

  • Log Cabin of Peter I – a tiny house built for the tsar during the first days of St. Petersburg’s existence, as a temporary residence.

  • Menshikov palace – the residence of the first St. Petersburg general-governor and one of the first stone buildings in the territory of the city.

  • Walking tour: Michael Garden, Engineering Castle (exterior only) and the Field of Mars.

  • Return to the hotel.

3rd day “The Imperial Capital”

  • Breakfast in the hotel.

  • State Hermitage Museum – one of the best art collections in the world. The Gala-rooms of the Winter Palace, the Italian Renaissance, Dutch, Flemish and Spanish old masters (Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Dyke, El Greco etc), and the French Impressionists collections. Visit to the museum with “special early opening” – the opportunity for the guests to enjoy the museum exhibitions before the main tourist stream.

  • Visit to the “Gold Room” – the special Hermitage treasury where one can find ancient gold archeological finds and imperial jewelry.

  • Palace Square – the main square of the city. The wonderful view of the Winter Palace. The Alexander Column – the monument to the victory of Russia over Napoleon. The General Staff building with the Chariot of Glory over its arch.

  • Lunch.

  • Imperial summer residence“Tsar Village”. Visit to the Catherine Palace known worldwide for its unique Ember room. A walk around the park.

  • “Tsar Village”. Alexander palace – the main private and official residence of the last Russian Emperor Nickolas II and his family. Visit to the palace and walk around the park.

  • Return to the hotel.

4th day «Venice of the North”

  • Breakfast in the hotel.

  • “Peterhof” – the former summer residence of Russian Emperors, famous for its magnificent fountains. A walk around the Lower Garden and visit to two small palaces on its territory.

  • Lunch in Peterhof.

  • Return to the city by hydrofoil.

  • Museum “The Universe of Water”. The exhibitions are located in the Water Tower and the building of the former reservoir of the Main Water Works. The museum has a great number of historical materials and various items all in some way connected with water.

  • Boat trip through rivers and canals of St. Petersburg.

  • Return to the hotel.

5th day  “St. Petersburg – the centre of Imperial Russia spiritual life”

  • Breakfast in the hotel.

  • Holy Trinity - St. Alexander Nevsky Monastery. Necropolis of the Masters of Arts. The monastery territory. Holy Trinity Cathedral.

  • The concert of church music in St. Alexander Nevsky Monastery.

  • St. Isaac’s Cathedral – the fourth tallest cupola construction in the world, and formerly the main Russian Orthodox church of the country (museum).

  • Lunch.

  • Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood. The interior of the church is completely covered with mosaics. It was built as a memorial to the Russian Emperor Alexander II on the very spot where he was mortally wounded by a terrorist (museum).

  • The Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan - the main functioning Russian Orthodox church of St. Petersburg.

  • The Roman Catholic Church of St. Catherine on the Nevsky Avenue (functioning church)

  • Return to the hotel.

6th day “Cradle of three revolutions”

  • Breakfast in the hotel.

  • Yusupov Palace. It used to belong to one of the wealthiest and most powerful noble families of Russia before the October Revolution in 1917. Visit to the grand halls, private rooms, the exhibition rooms dedicated to the murder of Gregory Rasputin – one of the most mysterious figures of the first half of the 20th century. The palace is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

  • Smolny Institute - the building of the former school for noble girls that was used as the Bolsheviks party headquarters during the October Revolution 1917. Nowadays it’s the main building of St. Petersburg’s government sessions.

  • Lunch.

  • Cruiser “Aurora” – a battle-ship from the first half of the 20th century, the symbol of the October Revolution. On the 25th of October 1917 she fired a blank shot that was the signal to start the storming of the Winter Palace.

  • The State Museum of Political History of Russia (former mansion of the ballet dancer M. Kshesinskaya). This was temporary the location of the Bolshevik party’s meetings and the residence of Vladimir Lenin.

  • Return to the hotel.

7th day “The cultural capital”

  • Breakfast in the hotel.

  • Russian museum – the collection of Russian art starting with 12th century icons and finishing with 20th century abstract works.

  • Memorial apartment of the Great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, author of “Eugene Onegin”, “The Bronze Horseman”, “The Queen of Spades”, ”The Captain’s daughter” and great number of other works.

  • Lunch.

  • Memorial apartment of the Great Russian author Fyodor Dostoyevsky, author of “Crime and Punishment”, “The Brothers Karamazov”, “The Idiot” “Demons” and many other novels.

  • Theatre and Music Art Museum. Exhibition “The Wonderland of the theatre”.

  • Return to the hotel.

8th day “The Hero City”

  • Breakfast in the hotel.

  • The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin – “The Siege Church” – it was created in 2001 in the memory of all the victims of the Siege of Leningrad which occurred during the Second World War.

  • Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery – a number of mass graves of the defenders of Leningrad and those who died of starvation during the Siege.

  • Lunch.

  • The Victory Square. Memorial to the Heroic Defenders of Leningrad. Pulkovo Heights.

  • Return to the hotel.

9th day “Everyday life of the big city”

  • Breakfast in the hotel.

  • The Underground railway.

  • “Kuznechny” food market.

  • Walk along Nevsky Avenue. “Eliseevsky” super-market of the 19th century. “Gostinny dvor” (“Merchants’ arcade”) Shopping Center. Catherine Gardens.

  • Return to the hotel (if desired)

  • Free time in the city.

10th day

  • Breakfast in the hotel.
  • Check-out of the hotel.
  • Spare time in the city.
  • Airport/railway/bus station transfer

Off Season (01.10.2013-01.05.2014)

9 days/8 nights

The Off Season program is the same as the High Season one. The only difference is the omission of the 4th day program (“Venice of the North”) in the Off Season.

* The insignificant changes in the program are possible for reasons beyond our control, without prejudice to the major amount and content of the excursions.

The price of the tour includes:

  • Welcome reception at the airport/railway station.

  • Transfer from the airport/railway station to the hotel and back accompanied by a qualified English-speaking guide.

  • Assistance by the hotel accommodation.

  • Nine/eights nights in the hotel 3*or 4* (prices according to the category of the hotel).

  • Nine/eight breakfasts in the hotel.

  • Excursions (the services of a qualified guide and air conditioned tour bus) according to the program.

  • Entrance tickets to all the museums in accordance with the program.

  • Organized tours in all the museums led either by your guide or by the museum guide with your guide’s interpretation.

  • Eight/nine lunches in the city.

  • Boat trip along rivers and canals of St. Petersburg

  • Radio-equipment (microphone and transmitters for the guide and earphones and receivers for tourists) that must be used inside all the museums by groups bigger than 7.

  • All local Russian Taxes.

  • Concert of church music in St. Alexander Nevsky Lavra (for groups bigger than 5 people).

    The price of the tour DOES NOT includes:

  • Plane/ railway tickets outside of Russia (can be booked on request).

  • Russian visa (on request we can send you the official invitation for visa (“visa support”), then you will need to apply for visa at the local Russian Consulate with this document).

  • Personal insurances (can be processed on request).

  • Dinners (can be organized for extra charge). 

  • Photo and/or video permits that are required in some museums (they can be booked, on request, or purchased in cash at the door).

  • Gratitudes to the guide (10% suggested) and the driver (5% suggested), to be given separately in cash (Euro, Rub or USD).


NB1. Unless it’s specified in another way, the duration of a half-day tour is 4 hours; the duration of a whole day tour is 9 hours including lunch.

NB3. All the prices are calculated for double room standard in the hotel of the corresponding category during the Season (16.04 – 14.05, 16.07 – 30.09).  For single rooms and Top/Low Season price corrections see the small attached tables.

NB4.  If the amount of people in a group is an uneven number, the price per person is the same as the one in a group of a previous even number (for example, the price per person in a group of seven people is the same as the price per person in a group of six people. See the tables). For the price of the tour for a person travelling alone see the small attached tables.

NB5. Lunch menu. We offer you lunches in different economy- and business-class restaurants of Saint-Petersburg. A lunch is the same for all members of the group. It includes a salad and/or a soup, a main dish and a desert. Mineral water, bread, tea or coffee is also included in the menu. We offer you dishes of Russian and European cuisine. If you are allergic to some kind of food, if you are a vegetarian, if you keep a fast or a diet, please inform us about that in details beforehand and we will organize your meals in the way to make you feel comfortable. A lunch lasts for about one hour. An order of not preliminary discussed extra dishes and drinks is to be paid in cash at the place.
